Pokemon Shiny Pokemon Heart Gold

The Rite

  • Year: 2011

  • Country: USA

  • Director: Mikael Håfström

  • genre: Horror Religious

  • Version: Theatrical
  • Synopsis: A young man disillusioned with life at home decides to join a conference and retreat before ordination, but ends up closer to the world of exorcism with much skepticism at first.

Initial Impression: Another film of the bunch, it only highlights the presence of Anthony Hopkins Hannibal Lec ... and satanic cameo of a mule.

Script and Development: know the "Buddy Movies"? those in a couple of members (usually cops) with contrasting personalities have to work together. This is a "Buddy Movie" against the devil and we all stereotypes of them: one is a veteran the other is a beginner, one is a believer and one is a skeptic ... and have some excitement early on whether we doubt who is right ... but it is more than clear that in this movie the devil is real, that exorcisms are real and ever the skeptic is right. So The Rite works as we expected it to work, there are no surprises in its plot and ends as we know it has to end.

Wow, it's sad, but that's all I have to say about this movie. Not bad, but does not stand out at all and may be forgotten two days after going to see it. There are much better exorcism movies like The Last Exorcism the mother of all, The Exorcist , but would recommend that stupid, because you all have seen.

management and technical aspects: Most of the film is set in Rome and the Vatican (which are the same thing, the worse they are not), which helps create a truly unique and very suitable for the subject of the film ... the music is also good ... but that's come everything.

There are not many special effects, but near the end we see some work with CGI makeup retouched I'm not sure if I liked or not, are rare (mostly because the movie wants to "raise the issue of exorcism seriously and realism, so do not fit at all).

Actions: anyone dares to say something bad against Anthony Hopkins? obviously not. This brilliant as always and is able to go full-Psycho the end of the story. The secondary characters (which is Rutger Hauer) are excellent.

Over there we also have the beautiful Alice Braga, but character on and do not contribute anything to the story.

Reflections: In USA, (a Protestant-majority country) movie theaters passing through unnoticed ... while in Latin America has had its relative success. This theme appeals to those who believe. Wanted to put me here to reflect on religion, beliefs, sometimes stupid people and that ... but I have little time, today premiered Black Swan!

    • The Good: always a pleasure to enjoy the roles of Anthony Hopkins.

    • Bad: The plot and development are not very interesting.

    • Ugly: The "scares" are all like "BU!" And jumps a cat.

    RATING: 6 / 10
